How do I schedule an appointment with you? How does your booking process work?
Once a year I open my request list to take on new projects. I manage my schedule in 12 month blocks and the window in which the request list is open for new projects is slightly limited. I highly recommend reading thoroughly through the BOOKING page or highlight on instagram, as it explains in great detail exactly how to schedule an appointment with me when the time comes.
Why don’t you have a wait list I can get on?
In the past, I have had a wait list. I found this more than difficult to manage, as the list became incredibly long. As I would contact people on the list, I would find that many wouldn’t get back to me, had been tattooed elsewhere, or simply weren’t interested any longer. This would occupy a large amount of my time to just find the people whom were still interested. By refreshing and starting a new request list every year, this ensures that people are still interested. This also gives me the ability to get back to people, and schedule them in a much quicker manner.
I made it onto your request list, so why doesn’t that guarantee me a spot on your schedule?
If all the people on the request list require one appt to complete their project, I am able to schedule more people. If all the people on my request list want larger scale projects, I must schedule them the appropriate amount of appts to complete their projects. That leaves fewer open spots and means fewer clients will get booked.
You mentioned that people with ongoing projects get priority. What does that mean?
Please refer to my BOOKING page or highlight on Instagram, where I explain what an ongoing project is, and how to know if you are one. Ongoing projects will be scheduled BEFORE new projects are taken on.
Im on the request list and you said you will contact me to have a consultation and schedule an appt. Where does that happen?
All consultations are done via text message. I do it this way so you can have a consultation, send a deposit, and get scheduled all from the comfort of your home. In person consultations will only happen if I deem it necessary for a better outcome.
I have an appointment coming up. What are some things I should know?
After you have been given an appt date(s), here is some information I send out:
HEALTH & SAFETY:
-Masking policy is reviewed weekly. You will be given masking instructions the week of your appt
-When you arrive for your appt, please enter NO MORE THAN 5 MINUTES before your scheduled time. You do not need to arrive early.
-Be clean, showered, and exfoliate the area you will be getting tattooed.
-You may bring ONE person to your appt.
-Within the past 6 days, if you’ve had (or close contact has had) covid, flu, strep, or cold, let me know, and we will reschedule.
IMPORTANT:
- A confirmation text is sent the week of your scheduled appt. No response to the confirmation text, with appt in less than 48 hours, will be taken as a cancellation, and the deposit is forfeit.
-Reschedules require more than 24 hours notice to avoid being charged.
-After 2 reschedules, deposit is forfeit and will require another full deposit to schedule again.
-On your appt day, you may receive a text adjusting your appt time by 30-60 minutes.
-The shop is CASH ONLY. AGAIN: CASH ONLY.
- If you wish to change the design, please give me a week notice at minimum.
-Eat before hand and drink plenty of water! (Feel free to bring needed snacks!)
-No children, no babies, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
-Bring headphones so you can listen to your own music/ watch videos/tv. I don’t talk when I tattoo, as this allows me to work faster!
-Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting messy. Ink, sweat, and blood are common to get on clothing. Sweatpants, yoga pants, t shirts are all great things to wear! The shop can be chilly!
-The week of your appt I will give a reminder of the estimated cost of your appt.
How do the deposits work?
Once a text consultation has been completed, a $100-$400 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is taken in order to schedule the discussed amount of appointments. The deposit amount is determined by the size of the tattoo. These deposits are taken via ZELLE ONLY at this time. If you are setting up multiple appointments, this only requires one deposit, which is applied to your very last appointment. The deposit comes off the overall price of the tattoo and is not a fee. Please refer to my BOOKING page, DEPOSIT or CANCELLATION highlight on Instagram for more information on reschedule, cancellation, and deposit policy.
I had a deposit down and had to cancel my appointment with you. Now what happens?
As long as you gave me ample notice when cancelling, your information goes on a list to be contacted for the next booking cycle. You can be rescheduled again at that time. If you choose to not schedule within the next booking cycle, your deposit is forfeit. After two reschedules, deposits do become forfeit.
I sent you a DM on instagram or an email, why aren’t you answering me?!
I do all my work correspondence via text message to keep everything neatly in one place. Emails are dinosaurs and take too long, and DMs can become confusing as many people don’t use their real names. Text messages are quick, direct, and are able to be saved for an infinite amount of time.
Do you do cover ups?
I appreciate the trust, but no, not currently at this time.
Do you tattoo all body types?
I love tattooing, and I love making things to decorate peoples bodies. ALL bodies. All shapes. All sizes. All colors. All tones. All genders. All our perfections, and imperfections. I’ll work around your moles, your scars, your acne, your hair, your stretch marks. I’ll work with your weight gains & weight losses. Do you scar easy? We will work with that. We will discuss what to expect and how it works. We will discuss how to keep you comfortable, how to get you what you are looking for, all while still giving me the ability to do what I need to do to make it happen. I am a very blunt human, and I wont leave you out in the cold. You will never be turned away from me for any of these things. ALL ARE WELCOME.
Do you ONLY do blackwork or do you do color too?
My specialty is blackwork, and its currently my main focus. There are so many tattooers out there that I find it better to really lean into one style and become the best I can at it. If you are looking to get a colored piece, I am not currently scheduling those at this time and would be more than happy to recommend an artist for you.
Can I see the drawing of my tattoo before my appointment date?
I do not draw in advance. All drawing is done the week of your appointment, often with it being finalized the night before. A lot of elements are drawn on as well, to ensure its proper fit to your body. When you come in for your appointment I will have a design for you to look at, and we can make simple changes on the day of if need be. If you have any changes to your design before the appointment date, please contact me as soon as possible.
Where do you work at?
I work in Phoenix Arizona and I am the owner of The Spotted Panther Tattoo. Its located at 1219 E Glendale Ave Unit 11, Phoenix Arizona 85020.
When do you work?
I work Wednesday’s - Saturday’s, and Saturday’s are NEVER a guarantee. I take two appointments a day at 11a & 3p, and each appointment spot is 4 hours.
Do you tattoo under 18?
I do not tattoo under 18, even with parental consent.
How much do you charge?
All pricing estimates are determined by size, design, detail, & location. There is never a guarantee of how long a tattoo may take, as everyone’s bodies and tolerances are different. All pricing or hours to complete a tattoo are a best educated guess and are subject to change. For multiple appointment pieces its $200 an hour, and for single appointment pieces its a flat price range. All appointments have a $500 minimum. I require a $100 - $400 non-refundable deposit to set an appointment for a tattoo. The deposit is applied to the total cost of the tattoo and is not a fee. I take deposits via ZELLE ONLY. Payment at the shop at the time of your tattoo is CASH ONLY. Please refer to my BOOKING page or COST & PRICING highlight on Instagram for more detailed and nuanced information.
